I am a Clinical Psychologist registered to practice with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I received Chartered status from the British Psychological Society (BPS) in September 1999, and full membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology in September 2005. I received Associate Fellow (AFBPsS) status from the BPS in 2010.
I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2005 and have provided reports in Family and Criminal Proceedings, youth Court, Civil Court, and the Court of Protection, since 2008. I regularly accept instructions from solicitors, barristers, and Local Authorities, and have completed over 500 reports. I have an extensive range of experience in assessing a wide variety of mental health difficulties by objective psychometric assessments and by clinical interview. I have appeared in Court in the capacity of an expert witness, am experienced in working with Intermediaries, and am Bond Solon trained. I have extensive clinical experience (both within the NHS and privately) of conducting comprehensive psychological assessments with individuals with Learning Disability, complex mental health difficulties, drug/alcohol problems, personality disorders and PTSD/Complex trauma.
Prior to training with Merseycare NHS, I worked with Older Adult services and Drug and Alcohol treatment services across Greater Manchester. From 2005-2012, I worked as the Lead Clinical Psychologist in South Manchester for Manchester Learning Disability Partnership, a joint NHS and social care service. From 2012-2018, I was employed by Merseycare NHS Foundation Trust, as the Lead Psychologist for the Forensic Support Service, a consultancy service for Learning Disabled adults in contact with the Criminal Justice System for the Northwest area. After being recalled as part of the Covid-19 response, I worked with the Greater Manchester Resilience Hub, consulting within Complex Safeguarding/Youth Offending/Child Sexual and Criminal Exploitation teams in Greater Manchester.
My current NHS post is with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust, as the Lead Psychologist for the Manchester Homeless Mental Health Team and Rough Sleepers CMHT, based in Manchester city centre and covering the entire city. I am a clinical placement supervisor for the Universities of Manchester, Lancaster, and Liverpool Doctoral Training programmes.
